Full Truckload

Full truckload is the type of shipment offered by a few of international forwarding companies. Transporting cargo by trucks is impossible between continents. Only air and ocean transport can cross waterways and canals which connect islands. One of the companies offering full truckload is England Logistics. Despite of its name it provides delivery services mostly in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Virtues of England Logistics and Other Full Truckload Forwarders

Of course the company promises one of the most cost-effective and efficient door-to-door services. Transportation network of the company supports the movement of more than hundred thousand shipments every year with the help of a dry van, refrigerated and flatbed shipping. The client’s frequency, temperature and equipment needs are always met. Full truckload carriers and other companies in this industry provide long-distance delivery of general freight by trucks. Freight from a single shipper makes up a truckload.

The most known companies, involved in this business and based in the US are Werner Enterprises, JB Hunt, Schneider National, Swift Transportation. Some companies from Canada, such as TransForce, from France such as Norbert Dentressangle and from Japan, such as Seino Transportation can also supply customers with the best shipping services by road.

Consumer and manufacturing output drives the demand. Of course the individual companies’ profitability depends on the efficiency of operations. Such conditions as bulk fuel buying, size of fleet, access to drivers and account relationships gives advantages to the companies, especially the large ones. If it is possible to serve local market, transport oversized products, provide quick turnaround, then such small operation can help to compete at the market.

Full Truckload Industry

The industry of full truckload is disintegrated because more than 90 percent of carriers in America have been classified as small businesses. This was made under Small Business Administration guidelines. More than 70 percent of truckload carriers, in their turn, operate less than five trucks. TL or Full Truckload shipments have special trailers that are dedicated to a single shipper’s cargo. In contrast to that LTL carriers deliver the consolidated freight of a few shippers with the one truck. They drop the cargo off at a lot of destination points. Customer who orders TL usually loads a trailer almost full. Trucker ships the container – the receiver unloads the contents of it. No stops in between are expected because the route is direct. Full truckload transit times are faster because the shipments are typically transported within one or two days depending on the distance to the destination.

Comparing this type of transportation with other one, it is possible to say that it is more appropriate for domestic shipments, inbound ones. The truck is also used for transporting freight from the warehouse to the dock or airport for loading it on the ship or plane. So for urgent delivery and outbound shipments, TL or Full Truckload isn’t used.
